When life went remote during the early stages of the pandemic, WVU Social needed a way to provide meaningful campus updates to the university community on Instagram, without clogging the main post feed.
My solution? The weekly Instagram story.
Now a staple of WVU’s Instagram presence, the weekly story has evolved into an all-encompassing digital bulletin, featuring campus updates, event schedules, student opportunities, and interactive elements like polls, trivia, and “pick your favorite” style games.
Viewed by an average weekly audience of 30k people, it’s grown to be one of our most effective social communication tools, putting important information when and where our audience needs it: every Sunday, at the top of their feeds.
